Martin Callanan was a Member of the European Parliament for the North East England constituency from 1999 to 2014. He was created a Life Peer in 2014, and joined the Government in 2017 as a transport minister. Lord Callanan was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on 14 February 2020. His ministerial responsibilities include Land Registry, corporate responsibility, better regulation, energy efficiency and fuel poverty. The discussion will be chaired by Ben Everitt MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Housing Market and Housing Delivery.

Peter Freeman was appointed to a three-year term as Chair of Homes England in October 2020. Peter’s role as Chair is to lead the continued transformation of Homes England into a commercially focused organisation that works with the public, private and voluntary sector to deliver much-needed homes and infrastructure across the country, to boost Homes England’s placemaking partnerships with councils, and to help to deliver the Secretary of State’s ambitious vision for housing. with Sir John Hayes KBE MP – Parliamentary Representative for the Office for Place
Sir John Hayes has served as the Conservative MP for South Holland since 1997, and has held five ministerial positions and six shadow ministerial positions during his time in Parliament. In 2016, he declared war on “ugly architecture”. In August 2020, the government established the Office for Place within the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, to support communities to turn their visions of beautiful design into local standards all new buildings will be required to meet. Sir John is the Parliamentary representative on the Office for Place’s Advisory Board. The discussion will be chaired by Ben Everitt MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Housing Market and Housing Delivery.
